The Stark Mountain Foundation
Located just south of the Appalachian Gap in Vermont’s Green Mountains, Stark Mountain offers its visitors an unparalleled multi-season recreational, environmental and educational experience which offers skiing on Mad River Glen's legendary ski trails, snowshoeing through a pristine alpine environment, hiking Vermont's famed Monroe Skyline, observing the mountain's resident wildlife and more.
To preserve and protect the environment and ecosystem of General Stark Mountain, including its recreational access and historic value, and to support programs that promote and sustain that environment for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
The Stark Mountain Foundation provides a way for people to help ensure that the objectives to "preserve and protect" this experience and place are achieved, and to demonstrate that a sustainable and successful model for outdoor recreation can be based in an environmental experience and challenge, and not in exploitation and homogenization of our ancient mountains.
